Pastor Clayton was born in Calgary, Alberta and lived mostly in the central Alberta area. Being raised on a farm brought a variety of experiences with farm animals and operating machinery. One of Pastor Clayton's interests was playing hockey in Alberta and Saskatchewan. One of the reasons for going to Briercrest was the lure of hockey. Pastor Clayton played for the Cougars Hockey team and also the Clippers hockey team, while in Briecrest. While at Briercrest, Pastor Clayton went into Business courses with the goal of becoming an accountant. This did end up changing into a pursuit of becoming a Pastor.
Pastor Clayton and Susan met at Briercrest Bible College. They were married in 1995 and began their call into full-time ministry in 1996. Our first, full time ministry was pastoring in Edmonton, for a couple years at Gospel Centre. In 1998, God had called the young Milgate family to pastor in Camrose, Alberta. After 20+ years in Camrose at CityLights Church, the Milgate's have four kids (3 boys all in hockey and one daughter in figure skating), have been through many exciting growth changes including relocating the church to a beautiful building in the centre of the city.
Our vision is that ALL will hear the great news - Jesus Christ crucified, buried, resurrected and sits at the right hand of the Heavenly Father. Jesus loves us and wants to forgive us of all our sins. Jesus is waiting for us to ask for forgiveness and to decide to follow Him.
Our hope is that these two scriptures will bring us to awareness of the will and desire of God for our lives.
9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”[f]
1 John 1:9
9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Milgate family enjoys camping, hockey, figure skating, reading, coffee, prime rib, traveling, being with other people and spending time with family.
